Out with the old, in with the new. That includes updating my journal for the first time since Veteran's Day.
Things with me have been both quiet and hectic. My first few months since graduation have been a little aimless. I'm unemployed, still living at home, and mostly doing freelance work for the occasional few bucks while desperately looking for a steady job. Not a terrible living, but not ideal.
That's the bad news. The good news is I have
been getting some opportunities. For one, I joined the animation collective KXB Studios
, whom I met while attending the Ottawa International Animation Festival this past September (that itself was an absolute blast). I've also had a couple interviews as retail art stores which right now would be the ideal situation, a day job which still involves the arts in some capacity. Nothing is certain right now, but I have a good feeling, knock wood.
Right now, I'm illustrating a friend's book of poetry that should be out this March, just in time for my birthday. Afterwards, I plan on getting back to finishing my film and animating regularly in general. Small
looping animation commissions might be available soon and if that's something that'd interest you, please let me know.
In the mean time, regular commissions are currently open. More commission streams will be coming soon.
And finally, for those who don't know, I finally have my own website up. Check it out here
A happy, healthy new year to everyone!
